Order of Christian Initiation of Adults
Easter Vigil is a time when thousands of men and women are received into the Catholic Church through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA).
Catechumens receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Holy Communion to become fully initiated into the Catholic Church. To learn more about the steps of OCIA, visit the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops website.
Catholics who have received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Holy Communion but are not currently practicing are encouraged to receive the Sacrament of Penance to continue their faith journey. Catholics who were baptized but never received Confirmation and/or First Holy Communion can begin their faith journey anew with the reception of these sacraments during the Easter Vigil or the Easter Season.
If you are interested in joining or learning more about the Catholic faith through OCIA, please contact OCIA Coordinator Sandy Calabro.
