The Sacrament of Marriage
Congratulations on your recent engagement! The new beginning, the love, the promise and hope that weddings have for us make of their celebration a special and grace-filled time in our lives.
Arrangements to be married at St. Michael Parish are made by filling out the Wedding Application Form and must be made at least one year prior to the wedding date. Weddings are normally scheduled on Saturdays between the hours of 10:00 am and 1:30 pm. We cannot accommodate weddings after 1:30 pm on Saturdays or anytime on Sundays. Friday afternoons and evenings outside the Season of Lent are a possibility.
Who may marry?
-
-
- Parishioners who are formally registered at St. Michael’s may be married.
- Roman Catholics who live within the boundaries of St. Michael’s but who have no formal relationship with the parish should contact the parish office about registering in anticipation of celebrating a wedding in the future.
- Catholics who live outside the parish and/or have no formal ties to this parish may be married here with the permission of their own pastor.
-
In all situations, either the bride or groom must be a baptized Catholic.
All individuals, Catholic and Non-Catholic alike, who have been previously married in either a civil or religious ceremony must obtain a declaration of nullity from a Roman Catholic Tribunal before he/she can be married in the Roman Catholic Church. A priest will assist you in this regard.
Please contact Anita Kapolowicz, Parish Secretary, to discuss your wedding arrangements.
